OVERVIEW

Mahadevi ("the great goddess") is the Hindu mother goddess. She is the wife of Shiva and the mother of Ganesha and Kartikeyya. She is known under other names and in different forms, and she physically transforms herself into other aspects such as Durga, the huntress of killers, and Kali, the destroyer. Other aspects include Parvati and Devi.

As Kali ("the black one"), she is the embodiment of chaos and death to every living thing. Her appearance is frightful, with blue skin, three eyes, four arms, a protruding tongue and a necklace made from human skulls.
