Since the death of Earth-Man, weeks or months have passed and the Legion of Super-Heroes has suffered a mission gone wrong that has seemingly resulted in the death of seven members (Legion Lost). The team is still adjusting to this with several resignations and the remaining members of the Legion Academy being integrated into the Legion.

A new mission is developing on the planet of Panoptes, a world on the border of Dominator space and official listening post for the UP. But it has dropped out of communication with the United Planets.

The mission seems to be going well with new members Chemical Kid and Dragonwing posing as ship-wrecked teens while the veteran members disguise themselves soldiers. The Veteran Team is led by Chameleon Boy. As The Legionnaires learn new equipment has been added that now sends signals into Dominator space and just as they are set to destroy the equipment a foe suddenly appears -a Daxamite.

Meanwhile, back at Legion Headquarters, Mon-El and Brainiac 5 continue in their positions of Leader and Deputy Leader.

Other teams who have apparently been out capturing the remnants of Saturn Queen's army are shown during a hologram meeting with Mon-El. Glorith appears to be in shock concerning the death of Variable Lad. Meanwhile, Gim Allon has quit the Legion and is shown as a member of Starfleet.

The clubhouse is gaining new statues, presumably because they were destroyed by Cosmic King as well as the new deaths. Visible are: Triplicate Girl, Invisible Kid, Ferro Lad, Kid Psycho, Chemical King, Proty, Earth-Man, Tellus, Timber Wolf, Wildfire and Dawnstar.
