Synopsis: - Once more, Darkseid couples himself up to the resurrected head of dog soldier Kaninsky in order to relive his memories. He discovers that his encounters with the rebel D-Vo have fostered a kind of respect for the felon, and that he begins to disobey orders in pursuing him through Darkseid's temple. On top of the temple, the two of them have a heart-to-heart, where D-Vo discovers the humanity of the soldier, and Kaninsky in turn, decides on a grand act of rebellion, deliberately destroying part of the temple and killing a number of Darkseid's troops in order to give D-Vo the possibility of escape.
- Darkseid and Desaad watch the re-opening of the temple, which has been 'cleansed' of all life within a large radius, and are shocked to discover evidence that D-Vo still lives and still rebels.
