OVERVIEW
A former mining world, for a time in the 30th-31st Century Labyrinth was the primary prison world for the United Planets.
HISTORY
Discovered by Ger Madras, the planet to be known as Labyrinth is the sole world in a binary star system. Originally mined for rare earth elements, the planet became honeycombed with tunnels and caverns. Though structurally sound, the U.P. Geological Survey deemed the terraforming required to make the surface habitable was too extensive to be practical. A few years later, Labyrinth was selected to replace the prison world Takron-Galtos.
The Legion of Super-Heroes assisted in the construction of the prison and its fortifications. Brainiac 5 used his forceshield technology on a planetary level; drawing solar energy directly from the orange secondary star. The prison world was overseen by Warden J*ss Toor-Tsaquin and kept many of the United Planets' most dangerous felons including the likes of Chameleon Chief and Hunter in sleeper suspense cells. -Legion of Super-Heroes Vol. 3 #22
