OVERVIEW
Jupiter is 5.2 AU from the sun, with a sidereal revolution of 11.9 years and a rotation period ("day") of 9.84 hours. It has faint, dark ring system. The planet is named for the ruler of the Gods of Olympus in ancient Roman mythology, Jupiter or Jove.
HISTORY
Jupiter, a gas giant, is devoid of life, save for the Earth-48 universe version of Jupitarians. In the "New Earth" universe, Red Saturnian survivors from the Saturnian Civil War settled on one of Jupiter's moons, naming this unspecified moon "New Bhok."
In the future, Jupiter had somehow been colonized. The Flash of that era, Thondor Allen was a fifth-generation colonist. Due to Jupiter's increased gravity (100 lbs. on Earth equalling 250 lbs. on Jupiter), the colonists were massive in size compared to Earth humans. - Flash Vol. 2 #147
By the 853rd Century, Jupiter became the meeting place of the Justice Legion A.
