Guest Appearance(s):
- Spectre II (as opening narrator of the story)
Other Character(s):
- Carrie and her newborn daughter Katherine (first appearance of both)
- Katherine Blythe (the woman Pieter Cross kills in the accident that robs him of his sight in Doctor Mid-Nite #1, no appearance, named only)
Comment(s):
- Dr. Mid-Nite uses "ultrasonic vision" for the first time in this story. Since it would entail him emitting high frequency sounds, it it probable his goggles do this and he is able to "read" the radar images on his goggles.

Feature Character(s):
- Doctor Mid-Nite I (last in JSA #72; next in flashback in Secret Origins Vol. 2 #50/5; see Comments)
Villain(s):
- Eddie Rotund and his gang (jewel thieves, first appearance for all)
Other Character(s):
- Marge McCay (Eddie's girlfriend, makes off with some of the stolen jewelry, first appearance)
Comment(s):
- This story gives no clues as to when it takes place, but due to the ease of Marge's departure on a passenger plane, it is probably after World War II.
