Synopsis: - The JLA has been crippled, and now Ra's al Ghul steals spoken language as well as the written word. A very brittle Plastic Man beams his colleagues aboard the Watchtower, the moon being out of range of the broadcasts. They are able to help each other, J'onn creating a mental illusion for Aquaman that he is in a nice dry desert, and Plastic Man removing the VR chip from Wonder Woman's ear. Superman is in agony, as his now-transparent skin allows power-giving sunlight to enter his muscles directly, and very painfully. He nevertheless performs a spot of laser surgery on the Flash while J'onn exposes and hence destroys the post-hypnotic suggestion that convinces Green Lantern that he is blind.
- Having infiltrated al Ghul's base in disguise, Batman contacts the JLA but they are somewhat dubious, in case this new contact is another trap. He nevertheless convinces them to meet him in Antarctica in order to remove the problem at source. Here, Superman trashes the tower, but the League get a warning from Talia that Ra's has funded a Rhapastanian biochemical attack on neighboring Turkey. However, she cannot finish the message as she is shot by another of Ra's' minions.
