HISTORY

Hypertime is described as an infinite realm of parallel worlds where divergent histories branch off the central timeline. At points, these alternate histories may merge back into the central timeline. They may also overlap points, or create entirely different directions. What some would consider dreams or "imaginary stories" would also be a part of Hypertime. According to Rip Hunter, each of these possibilities were considered "kingdoms."

Though the so-called Crisis on Infinite Earths was said to have collapsed the multiverse into a singular universe, the "destroyed" parallel worlds still existed within Hypertime.

During the Infinite Crisis, Alexander Luthor, Jr. (Earth-3 - Pre-Crisis Multiverse) attempted to use parallel Earths to create a new reality. It was in the aftermath of this latest Crisis that a new multiverse of 52 universes was created. A year later, the rampage of Mister Mind, now morphed into a hyper-fly, saw the alterations of these formerly identical Earths into a diverse set of worlds, some of these worlds were reminiscent of the pre-Crisis multiverse.

Finally, the event known as Flashpoint saw the central timeline radically altered. When it was restored it was not as before. Even the 52 Multiverse was altered.
