OVERVIEW
A large Great Horned Owl who became an inspiration and companion to Charles McNider, AKA Doctor Mid-Nite starting in 1941. There have in fact been numerous owls in succession, at one count the number was fourteen, each with the name Hooty.

During the event known as the Blackest Night, a black ring descended upon his corpse, downloaded Hooty's memories and created a duplicate of the owl's body that rose from the grave as a member of the Black Lantern Corps, once more accompanying Doctor Mid-Nite.
