HISTORY

To combat the threat of Oblivion, Kyle Rayner's unconscious mind created a number of Green Lanterns, each representing parts of his mind, and each with their own "history," which led them, and others, to believe they were real.

From the far off future, Ali Rayner-West, the daughter of that era's Flash and Green Lantern. She claimed to be a descendent of both Kyle Rayner and the third Flash, Wally West, inheriting super-speed powers from her mother and the emerald power ring from her father when he passed away.

Facing pressure from the West family to become a Flash as well as equal pressure from the Rayner family to become a Green Lantern, Ali Rayner-West found herself prevented from using both powers simultaneously by a mental block.

Ali chose the name "Green Lightning" to reflect her dual heritage and joined the JLN, a future version of the present day JLA.

She represented Kyle's hope for the future. - Green Lantern/Adam Strange #1, Green Lantern: Circle of Fire #2

POWERS AND WEAPONS

Until she overcame the mental block, Green Lightning could not use both her power ring and her superspeed at the same time.
