HISTORY
Appearing in the 31st Century, the Gold Lantern Power Ring was said to have been created by the self-proclaimed Elders of Oa. It has been observed to function similarly to a Green Lantern Power Ring and is wielded by the Gold Lantern Kala Lour of the Legion of Super-Heroes.
The studies of Brainiac 5 have cast doubt on the Elders of Oa, as the Coluan Legionnaire postulates the Gold Lantern ring and the Elders are something altogether different from what is being presented.
-Legion of Super-Heroes Vol. 8 #12
Back in the 21st Century, the time-travelling villain Epoch encountered members of the Justice League while he searched for the Gold Lantern ring, in the hope of destroying it. While neither Epoch nor the League discovered the ring, a yellow power ring was seen in the swamps of Louisiana, near a possibly time-tossed headquarters of the Legion of Doom.

SPECIFICATIONS
Despite any conjecture to the true nature of the Gold Lantern Power Ring, thus far it has exhibited a form of artificial intelligence as it communicates with its user. It allows for both atmospheric and space flight, forcefields and the creation of energy constructs.
The Gold Lantern ring operated with "limited functionality" in the 21st Century as it was separated from its "lantern power source" by time and space. It is not known if this statement implies the possible existence of a Gold Lantern Power Battery.
