WHAT MIGHT HAVE BEEN! - ALEX ROSS' BATBOY |
A story proposed by Alex Ross
Batboy:
A mini-series proposal that never saw the light of day, at least at DC, is mentioned in Rough Justice: The DC Comics Sketches of Alex Ross. While the title may make you wonder what a Batman story has to do with Green Lantern, it does at the end. The premise borrows from the sporadic "Super-Sons of Superman and Batman" from 1973-1976 issues of "World's Finest." Throgh the course of the story, there's future versions of the Justice League, with members of the Teen Titans grown up and taking their place, but Hal Jordan's still the Green Lantern.
Through the course of the story, Batboy discovers the reality they live in is made up by Jordan from his manipulations as Parallax. He's finally made an idyllic world, like Parallax View.
Batboy was left on the backburner as plans for the DCU had changed, bringing back Hal Jordan and the multiverse.
* NOTE: Sorry, no Green Lantern artwork for this. :(
