HISTORY
In the only recorded sighting to date, the three "Fists of the Guardians" were utilized to apprehend the Green Lanterns Sinestro of Sector 1417 and Hal Jordan of Ssector 2814. The Fists of the Guardians were apparently created by the Guardians of the Universe.
- Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn II #4
The Fists of the Guardians tracked the pair through space to an Earth prison. Sinestro and Jordan were placed under arrest and ordered to Oa for investigation of the anti-Green Lantern uprising on the planet Korugar. - Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn II #5
The trio of robots were distracted by a rioting prisoner crowd, and Sinestro made his escape. Jordan agreed to stay where he was to await the summons from Oa. The Fists of the Guardians pursued Sinestro.
Sinestro was stopped before he could jump into sub-space, and finally caught after a few miles' chase. In addition to the prior charges against Sinestro, the Fists of the Guardians added flight from arrest, assault on arresting officers, and needless damage to a sector not under his jurisdiction. Bound and gagged, Sinestro was brought to Oa for judgement.
In the court of the Guardians, the Fists of the Guardians stood observing the procedures. Sinestro was found guilty and sent to the anti-matter universe. - Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn II #6

GLCWP NOTE
The Fists of the Guardians were never seen before or after this story. It seems the Guardians have had them for a while though. Perhaps they were prototypes of a new Manhunter force? I speculate they were either destroyed at a later date by Sinestro, or during the war against Krona and Nekron. Possibly Guy Gardner's clone, Enforcer, took some of their technology? His "power suit" seems similar.
The Fists of the Guardians' "costume" seems to have made a lasting impression on Guy Gardner (who was at the prison at the time of the Fists' appearance), or the group of "renegade" Guardians that chose Guy as a Green Lantern. Years later, Guy would adopt a similar uniform.
