HISTORY

Derek Bradbourne is a travelling salesman in the UK who was given armour and an energy-smiting stick which he used to become the hero Crusader, a symbol of all that Britain is capable of achieving.

When Thunderbolt based himself in London, Crusader felt that this American import was overshadowing the native British heroes and his patron, Sir Hubert Abercombie, persuaded him to confront the upstart. However, once he found out that his true patron was actually the evil Victor Cypher, he joined forces with Thunderbolt, Power Girl and Checkmate to bring him down.

It is likely that Bradbourne continues to fight crime as the Crusader, now free of Cypher's malign influence.
