According to Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Compendium this series takes place in the universe of Earth-85.
At the time of publication, though, it seemed as this was supposed to be a reworking of the original version. But since the original team has since turned up alive and well, it is possible that this team is new "creations" of Professor Mazursky, named to closely resemble the originals that had gone missing as part of the project, and that they don't know their real names.

Solicitation:

A blazing miniseries set in the not-too-distant future begins. A casualty of World War II is revived to join a group of bizarrely transformed soldiers that defend the Earth from other-dimensional threats.
