OVERVIEW

A legendary race of female immortals created by the goddesses of Greek myth in circa 1200 BC, dedicated to female power and wisdom. After a betrayal by Heracles, the Amazons split into two factions. One led by Queen Hippolyta founded a society on the island of Themyscira (a.k.a. Paradise Island), the other followed Hippolyta's sister Antiope and built the city of Bana Mighdall in Egypt. Today, these two main tribes of Amazons live together on the new Themyscira, but it is believed that there are splinter groups and smaller tribes all over Earth.
