A general surgeon, friend and former girlfriend of Steel III.

HISTORY

Dr. Amanda Quick, born Amanda Summers, was a dedicated physician whose career brought her into contact with both Steel and his alter ego, John Henry Irons. She first encountered him at Washington General Hospital when his niece, Natasha Irons, was admitted after being struck by a car. Over the following months, Amanda and John Henry met on several occasions, and she began to suspect that Steel and Irons were the same person. Her suspicions were confirmed when Steel publicly revealed his identity.

Amanda later took up a position at the Garden State Medical Center in Jersey City, where she convinced John Henry to accept a job on the hospital staff, thanks to an offer from the facility's administrator, Dr. Arthur Villain. While working side by side, the two grew closer, and their professional relationship gradually developed into a romantic one.

However, before Amanda and John Henry fully committed to each other, she became involved with another man—someone she met one evening after John Henry left to assist the police. She later learned that he was also the assassin known as Skorpio, but by then, he had already swept her off her feet. The two became romantically involved after she encountered him again as Sam Ellis, a medical doctor at GSMC. She ultimately ended the relationship and chose John Henry instead, but she did not disclose what she knew about Sam's secret life.

This omission would come back to haunt her when Skorpio later attacked and poisoned Natasha Irons. Faced with a crisis that threatened Natasha's life, Amanda could no longer keep her secret and confessed to John Henry that she had known about Sam's dual identity for months. Steel hunted down Skorpio and managed to subdue him. However, the fallout did not end there. Law enforcement soon arrived and arrested Amanda, charging her as an accomplice after the fact for withholding information about Skorpio’s activities. Following her arrest, she vanished from public view, her fate left uncertain.
