HISTORY
A native of the parallel reality known as the Marvel Universe (Earth-616), young Axel Asher became aware of his extraordinary powers at the time when the DC and Marvel Universes started to merge. (The cause of this was a battle between 'the Brothers' – two beings personifying the two Universes.) Axel learned that he alone had the power to stop this. As Access, he helped preserve the border between the universes, and helped parting them when they had merged into an Amalgam Universe. With the heroes of two worlds, Access also helped stop the fight between the Brothers, saving two multiverses from destruction. (The heroes' later memories of these events were vague and hazy at best. Currently, they don't seem to remember it at all. This may be the work of Access.)
Access is now a native of both universes and continues his duty of keeping them apart. If they lap over, Access will be there to solve the situation. It has been revealed that the stories where DC and Marvel heroes appear on a 'shared Earth' are dimensional fluxes where the two universe have merged again. Access usually works those situations out without anyone noticing that he is involved. He may or may not have worked behind the scenes when Krona later merged the two universes again and was defeated by the JLA and the Avengers (neither of whom had any memory of meeting before).
POWERS AND WEAPONS
Access has the ability to create inter-dimensional gateways between the universes. He can also use his gateways to teleport and travel in time. He has a sixth sense that allows him to feel the presence of anything from one universe in the other. If Access stays in one place too long, he can cause spontaneous crossovers to occur.
